One Month Old
So Oliver is really 6 weeks tomorrow but here is the picture I took of him on his official One Month Birthday. What a sweet baby he is. He is so good. He is a good eater, a good sleeper, and a good little brother. Oh, how we love him so.
Belated Bear Lake
About 3 weeks ago we went to Bear Lake with Brandt's side of the fam. I suppose we can call it the "Annual Trip" since we're 2 years running. It was great. I am so appreciative to have such great in-laws and everyone was so helpful since we had little Oliver to keep me away and Dylan and Charlie were just taken under everyone's wings. I was pretty much stuck in the cabin since Oliver was only 3 weeks old but I still had fun.
Here we are getting ready to leave. I had packed all the shorts I had that weren't in the dirty hamper so I had to dress Dylan in whatever I could find that were shorts. That's why he looks so dorky. I know...mean.

We played in the lake. Or I guess Dylan played in the lake. When we got there Mimi & Papa took all the grandkids down to the lake. Dylan ran right up to it and then in it and plopped himself right down in it. That's how he was the whole time. Charlie was not so sure of the lake. He stood on the sand and did not move. Did not sit down, did not play, just stood there. That is what all the chaparones said anyway...it was all word of mouth to me.

We went on the waverunners with Daddy. You know who had the most fun with it.

When you got back to the house you had to rinse your feet off. We're big enough to do it ourselves, ya know.

We played on the playset
And we played in the sand

We also played on the 4wheelers but the very best picture I had of that was on my cell phone and someone (Charlie) decided to kill my phone the other day (another wonderful story for another time). I had sent the picture to Brandt's phone so when I download it off I'll have to post it. It is the best.
Here's the only picture I took of Oliver on the trip.
We can't wait til next year when we get to go again! Here we are on the drive home...says it all!!

Once upon a time...
I looked like this:
Which in turn, took me to this:

(what else is there to do while you await your baby then to take self-portraits trying to not give yourselves more of a double chin than you already have!)
And then you find yourself with this:

Oliver Brandt born July 18th(his daddy's and great-grandpa's birthday), weighing in at a healthy 8lb 9oz, and 21inches long. We usually see him looking like this:

But occasionally you will see some eyes:

He is an amazingly good baby. Eats, sleeps, sleeps some more, and eats some more.
His big brothers were pretty curious about him. Charlie just loves him and is always keeping tabs on him and tells everyone (mommy and daddy included) that he is "baby" and reaches out to pat him on the belly.
I think this picture of Dylan is the one and only we will ever have of him showing some affection. I don't think he cares much for his little brother yet or maybe it is the ADD in him that keeps him too distracted to focus much on him. Who knows.
Here's our little "family photo" from the hospital. I just took a shower and have no make-up on so don't judge too harshly.

Mommy and Oliver made one trip out of the home so far and while we were out we went and met Oliver's future best friend Sadie. Sadie was born on the same day as him and me and her mommy were bestest friends all growing up. They're meant to be friends...it's fate.

Daddy has been amazing and has tackled the gruesome twosome like a champ. He has been wonderful. The twins I think have loved being his helpers (especially when it comes to using his tools). We've been quite busy around our house getting projects done while Brandt is off work. We've built a fence, cleaned the windows and screens, fixed the loose tile in our kitchen,
painted some doors, had insulation put in our attice, had the siding, fascia, and soffit replaced outside, gone to the zoo,
and hasn't forgotten to have our nightly ritual before bed...rockin' out session. This is Dylan doing his air-guitar
and here he is in his guitar-stance.
He is hilarious when it comes to music. He just LOVES it, like daddy of course. My mom told me that after you have a baby you are supposed to have it nice and quiet with lots of rest for 2 months. We came home from the hospital and hit the ground running. Crazy. We are all well around here, though, so I can't complain.
My computer has been on the fritz lately so you're lucky you got this post. It happens to want to work today. Hopefully I will be able to post again soon.

Are you there??
So I apparently completely missed June! No posts for you. I've thought about updating about 100 times, but ya know, not such a big priority for me these days. I am large and ready to have a strapping young fellow in less than two weeks and have been incredibly busy with two rambunctious almost 2 year olds! What can I say.
So the second week of June the boys and I and my sweet niece Aspen (with the job title of my nanny) piled in the car and drove down to St. George for a few days with my parents. Brandt stayed back to live the dream delivering mail. The weather was lovely and it was nice to have a different scene. However, it's always nice to be back home and back to our normal routine. I am a creature of habit.
We went swimming in St. George:

We went swimming at Granna's a few days ago:

In June I was hosting an Activity Days for the girls in my neighborhood at my house. They were working on their project in my living room and the boys were being boys and climbing up and down the couch, sliding off the edge, laughing, giggling, having a great time. I ran into the kitchen to get something and heard a cry. I came back in and the girls said, "um, Charlie pushed Dylan off the couch." Lovely, D would hardly put any pressure on his foot. I called the doctor and she said to watch him for the afternoon and if he is still having issues with it in the morning to come in. We went in and she said it looked like just a sprain and he should be better in about a week. A week went by and he was still hobbling so they suggested seeing a sports medicine doctor. So, a few days later that was the plan of attack. In his xray it looked like there was a slight fracture on his fibula (smaller leg bone). So we have a boot. I go in tomorrow morning to make sure he is back to normal. He's walking great. Is the boot not the cutest and saddest thing you've ever seen??? What a trooper.

So, amongst all this fun, we've still managed to get into lots of trouble and discover all sorts of fun things to do to wear down mommy's patience and that fine quality is pretty much non-existent these days. Proof of our shenanigans is here:

My hubby, the hero!
Yesterday afternoon while the boys were sleeping I went out to the driveway and was cleaning out Brandt's truck. I had gotten to vacuuming and was on the passenger side, which was next to the house. I finished up that side, went around the truck and as I came across the back a bird fluttered down our driveway and onto our neighbors grass. It caught my eye because he was flying close to the ground and it looked like he was carrying a mouse trap. I thought to myself "wierd, must be taking that new treasure to his nest". I went on for about a minute then realized that he hasn't moved off of the grass. I went over to take a look and upon inspection, the trap was trapped ON the bird. My little mommy instincts kicked in and I was fretting and didn't know what to do. I called Brandt and he said he'd be by in a minute (nice that he is so close to home and happened to be on his way to stop by for lunch anyway). He got here, looked at the bird, went and got a flathead screwdriver, and went over and just like that released the bird. It flew away but the bird probably lost it's leg. The leg was trapped in it and probably had just snapped. Yucky. I felt pretty bad for the little guy, but better that he could fly away and if he is to die, it won't be from being stuck and starving. What a guy to save the day. All in a days work, right? Deliver the mail, save a bird, yadda yadda.
Here are some pictures of D & C playing for the first time in Grandma's sand box. It was a hit - as long as you could convince D to keep the sand IN the box.

And I have to post this hilarious picture of the boys at Kangaroo Zoo. Notice C's face. He wasn't too sure of the slides at first (make that anything). He is such the timid little guy. Eventually he warmed up though and had fun.

New Discoveries
So the other afternoon I let my boys outside to run off some energy.
These days I have to be really up for letting them outside because they are getting so hard to wrangle up! They are moving faster and faster, and I cannot run as fast anymore (not to mention in two different directions) with my current condition! So, anyway, I digress, we went outside to enjoy the afternoon sun. While we were running around the driveway, Dylan made a new discovery...HIS SHADOW!
He kept looking down at it, a little confused, would turn back to play, then keep glancing over his shoulder at his "buddy". It was so cute! While I was trying to take a few pictures of the boys, I discovered mine, too...yikes!
