My hubby, the hero!

Yesterday afternoon while the boys were sleeping I went out to the driveway and was cleaning out Brandt's truck. I had gotten to vacuuming and was on the passenger side, which was next to the house. I finished up that side, went around the truck and as I came across the back a bird fluttered down our driveway and onto our neighbors grass. It caught my eye because he was flying close to the ground and it looked like he was carrying a mouse trap. I thought to myself "wierd, must be taking that new treasure to his nest". I went on for about a minute then realized that he hasn't moved off of the grass. I went over to take a look and upon inspection, the trap was trapped ON the bird. My little mommy instincts kicked in and I was fretting and didn't know what to do. I called Brandt and he said he'd be by in a minute (nice that he is so close to home and happened to be on his way to stop by for lunch anyway). He got here, looked at the bird, went and got a flathead screwdriver, and went over and just like that released the bird. It flew away but the bird probably lost it's leg. The leg was trapped in it and probably had just snapped. Yucky. I felt pretty bad for the little guy, but better that he could fly away and if he is to die, it won't be from being stuck and starving. What a guy to save the day. All in a days work, right? Deliver the mail, save a bird, yadda yadda.

Here are some pictures of D & C playing for the first time in Grandma's sand box. It was a hit - as long as you could convince D to keep the sand IN the box.

And I have to post this hilarious picture of the boys at Kangaroo Zoo. Notice C's face. He wasn't too sure of the slides at first (make that anything). He is such the timid little guy. Eventually he warmed up though and had fun.

New Discoveries

So the other afternoon I let my boys outside to run off some energy. These days I have to be really up for letting them outside because they are getting so hard to wrangle up! They are moving faster and faster, and I cannot run as fast anymore (not to mention in two different directions) with my current condition! So, anyway, I digress, we went outside to enjoy the afternoon sun. While we were running around the driveway, Dylan made a new discovery...HIS SHADOW! He kept looking down at it, a little confused, would turn back to play, then keep glancing over his shoulder at his "buddy". It was so cute! While I was trying to take a few pictures of the boys, I discovered mine, too...yikes!
