What do you do all day?

So the past week or so I have been asked a couple times what I do all day. I usually answer, "I don't know, just take care of the babies." This has got me thinking...what do I do?? Lets see:

1. Wash bottles and pump "stuff" - about a month ago I had put a little sticky by my sink and just tallied each time I washed a bottle. Turns out I wash about 25 bottles daily. My boys don't drink 25 bottles but I do pump frequently and that is 2 bottles each time, too.


2. Diapers, Diapers, Diapers - usually 12-15 diaper changes per day. It varies depending on the day, haha.


3. Pump...the dreaded pump - Can I tell you how sick I am of that stinkin' pump? I started out pumping at least 7 times a day. I tried to do it every 2 hours but I have cut back since the boys are starting solid foods. I usually average 5-7 times at the pump per day. I will usually sit there at least 15 minutes but sometimes it is a little less and sometimes a little more. That equates to 1-2 hours sitting at the pump. Yuck...I cannot wait for that milestone where I can give them cows milk (ok, I can, I don't want to wish away their "baby-ness").


4. Work - I do work a little from home. Depending on the day it could be nothing or a few hours of work. I try to do it while the boys sleep cause otherwise I have to do it at night and miss spending time with my cute hubby.


5. Clean up - how does the house get so messy? I swear I try to keep things organized but there is ALWAYS something that needs straightening. One day when I'm rich I'll hire a housekeeper. While they're at it they can wash all those bottles for me!

Having twins is a whirlwind. Everyone I have spoken to with twins of their own say that once that first year is over it gets a little easier (sorta). They say that you don't really remember the first year and I completly get that. Running, running, running. But I love it. I love them. I am so, so, so lucky. I cannot say that enough. My boys are honestly the best boys ever.

My boys always know when I am unavailable. I was pumping for the 9000th time the other day and they were hysterical. This is what I found when I was done. Notice the pooled tears below his left eye. Breaks my heart. You know he's thinking "Mom, where were you? How could you leave me?" Sweet baby...

Mmmmmmmm...

We're getting to be ol' pros at the whole rice cereal thing. Maybe we'll start up those yummy veggies soon.

Dylan has figured out how to roll over! He is just so smart. His brother has no interest in that. I mean, why roll over when you can just whine and someone will move you where ever you want to go. He is just content to eat and lay there.

Almost every morning I find Dylan on his tummy. He must be a tummy sleeper like his mommy.

5 months...getting bigger every day!

I cannot believe that I have 2 healthy, beautiful 5 month old baby boys! I just am amazed every day at how blessed I am to have them here with us! I even got some smiles caught on camera. That itself is a miracle!

Nauvoo, IL

We had our first vacation last month. Me, Dylan, Charlie and Granna went to visit my parents in Nauvoo, IL. They have never met my babies in person so it was very sweet to be able to take them out there. My parents will be home in June and then the spoiling can begin. It was a wonderful trip (and quite hilarious at times trying to lug these boys through the airport)! All the Sisters there serving were so excited to see my boys. My mom had told them all about them so they are quite famous. There were even gifts brought over to the house. I am just floored by the generosity of those women. It was great to see my mom & dad, but it was hard to be away from Brandt that whole time, too. It was FREEZING there, one night it got down to -20 degrees. Too cold for my blood. It's pretty pathetic when you think it is hot when it is 30 degrees outside. And I thought it was cold here in Utah. I don't think I can ever complain again. Both boys caught a cold while we were there and Charlie had a fever one day. That was probably more tough on me than on them. It just breaks your little heart to see your babies sick. Other than that, it all went well. Here are some pictures from our adventure.
